KidsTunesOnline is finally OPEN!
This ended up being much more work than I ever dreamed of… but we’re here. We’ll be doing quite a few updates and changes to the site in the near future.

It’s been a while since my first blog ever, but here’s an update…
I’ve been busy doing some things with the music but Sarah has had an ear and sinus infection that has kept us from tracking the final vocals for this first project.
Another thing is in order for this to be sucessful, we’ve been working on a new business plan as well as marketing ideas… because in order for us to bring more great music to you, we have to be able to do it financially. We have made good progress and still expect to have an initial release around the beginning of 2007…
A coloring book is also in the works, but it’s difficult to deliver the quality product we want because of the production costs, so we’re looking at other options. We’re also looking for great deals that we can include in our shopping cart such as musical instruments and other educational items but it’s been difficult to find the kind products we want at even a reasonable breakeven price.
The website has just hit Google - hurray! - but without marketing, you would never even be reading this, much less enjoying our music with your children… so… I’ve recently agreed to do a monthly column for www.indieislands.com, a national music magazine with over 25,000 subscribers iand you can also expect to see Wyckham Hall and KidsTunesOnline doing something very different and newsworthy on www.youtube.com and http://video.google.com/ in the near future.

Doing new things can be fun and exciting… but doing new things can also be more work and frustration than expected. Take this blog for instance. I’ve spent more than 6 hours trying to install it.
It took so long, not because I’m stupid, although I will admit that yesterday was the first time I ever even thought about Linux syntax. Well anyway, it seem the problem I had was not me. I configured the database correctly, modified the .php files correctly, uploaded everything and kept getting parse errors. Well I’ll make a long story short. It was Microsoft FrontPage that was causing the upload to be corrupted. A quick download of LeapFTP and another upload of the .php files caused everything to work. Less than 5 minutes.
I spent over $100 in books, hours searching google, I won’t go into detail what bad things can happen with FrontPage when you are using custom .htaccess files… I could go on and on but I have learned my lesson.
So, I have set up 3 MySQL databases for the first time, edited countless .php files, learned how to create, setup and encrypt .htaccess files, installed a shopping cart and finally have this blog installed… (Thanks to the fine folks at the WordPress forum for the suggestions) Next job, Mailing list software - I’m currently getting a Fatal MySql Error.
Anyway, Welcome to KidsTunesOnline. We’re just starting the work. We hope that this site will become a valuable resource for you and your family… not to mention you will find some of the best Children’s music you have ever heard here!
